Streaming Video Collections

About Curio.ca

 

This multidisciplinary collection gives teachers and students streaming access to the best in educational video and audio from CBC and Radio-Canada. You'll find documentaries from television and radio, news reports and more on a wide range of topics such as:

  • Missing and murdered indigenous women
  • Canadian Parliamentary Democracy
  • Residential schools
  • Aboriginal education then and now: issues, controversies and concerns
  • Canadian history
  • Refer-O-scope (a series of short videos on mental health issues)
  • Health and nutrition
  • And much more

Restricted to College of the Rockies students, faculty and staff.  You will be required to login with your College Network Account if you are off-campus.

To access the Curio.ca database follow these steps:

  • Learning Commons homepage
  • Click Databases tab on the search box
  • Click the drop drown arrow next to Choose by Database Title and select Curio.ca (Multidisciplinary)' and click Go
  • You will be directed to Curio.ca homepage

This collection has been added to the Library's catalogue and is searchable by title, subject or keywords.

Playlists

 

College of the Rockies Library subscribes to Curio.ca platform which enables you to screen CBC and Radio-Canada content anywhere without creating an account. 

However, if you would like to create playlists and use other personalized features of Curio.ca, you'll need to create an account:

  1. Look for the Login button in the upper right corner.
  2. Fill out the short registration form and click Continue.
  3. An activation link will be sent to you by email.
  4. When you receive your activation email, follow the link and enter your email and password to login.

Return visitors

Once you've set up your Curio.ca account, on return visits you can use the same Login button to enter your email and password.
