Information Literacy Skills Development (ILSD) Workshop

Information literacy forms the basis for lifelong learning. The Learning Commons has created a resource guide that introduces faculty to definitions, issues, resources, librarian-supported workshops and instructional sessions.

Standards and learning outcomes endorsed by the Association of College & Research Libraries provide the foundation for creating and assessing workshops, instructional sessions, and programs delivering exemplary information literacy instruction.

To schedule an ILSD workshop book with the College’s Librarian.

In-Class Instruction

In information literacy instruction sessions, a librarian will come to your class to teach students essential research skills to effectively find and evaluate information for their schoolwork. This includes developing a search strategy, techniques and best practices for searching the library for information resources, and strategies for evaluating resources to make sure that the highest quality information is found.
