Google Book search is no different than Google search. Google search returns a results list with items matching those terms.

Browsing

If a book is out of copyright, or the publisher has given Google permission, you'd be able to see a preview of the book, and in some cases the entire text.  If it is in the public domain, you're able to download a PDF copy without violating copyright.
