Research support is available to all College of the Rockies students. You can choose in-person help, email a question (library@cotr.bc.ca), or use live chat with someone at AskAway. We have also outlined the 7-step process below to guide you through the typical elements of a research assignment. 

(In-Person Research Help is available Monday to Thursday from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.)

Research Strategies: Getting Started

1. Understand the Assignment

  • THINK how the assignment relates to what you are learning
  • ENSURE you understand all assignment requirements
  • UNDERLINE useful keywords in your assignment
  • MAKE a plan and give yourself enough time to complete the assignment
  • KNOW your instructors limits on any use of Artificial Intelligence tools
