Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs -

What is a Hold? How do I Place One?

A hold is like a reservation that you can place on a physical resource such as a print book or DVD video.  When you place a hold, the item is put aside for you to pick up at the Learning Commons' Information & Service Desk or at the campus that you specify.  You will receive an email or phone call when the hold is ready for you to pick up.  It will be held for you for 3 business days after you have been contacted.

There are 2 ways that you can place a hold.  You can place a hold from the results list that appears after you have performed a search in the catalogue.  Click the Place Hold link at which time you will be required to login to your Library Account.

Faculty & Staff need to contact the Learning Commons' Information & Service desk to complete their Library Account setup.  Contact information is found below.

Or, you can click on the hyperlinked title in the results list to see more details about the item and then click the Place Hold link at which time you will be required to login to your Library Account.
