About Citing Audiovisual Media

To cite audiovisual media note the author (or producer/director), the title, publisher and date of publication.

The title of audiovisual media is followed by a medium designator such as [videocassette] or [videodisc].

For each type of source in this guide, both the general form and a specific example will be provided.

The following format will be used:

In-Text Citation- entry that appears in the body of your paper.

Reference List- entry that appears at the end of your paper.

The publication information is followed by a physical description of the medium, e.g., 1 videodisc: 122 min, sound, colour, 4 3/4 in. OR 1 videocassette: 68 min, sound, colour, 1/2 in.
